The jubilee ride at the 150 year jubilee of the

     
 

Aachen - Maastricht - Railway(1853 - 2003)

  
     

 

        The 23rd Oktober 2003 the Aachen-Maastricht-Railway existed exactly 150 years. However in 1992 the line was put out of service between Aachen and Schin op Geul . The Dutch Railways had broken up the tracks at Vetschau and at Schin op Geul.  So the jubilee ride could only take place on the tracks managed by the ZLSM !
The "Adler" from the Nuremberg Museum was herefor transferred to Limburg Province. Poignant this 1935 built replica was severely damaged due to a big fire at the Nuremberg Museums depot in the winter of 2005  !
Good thing that I could  record the "Adler" on photograph during this ride at Simpelveld at this beautiful day !
