       Right across the Belgian border the line crosses the junction canal between the Zuid-Willemsvaart and the Albertcanal at a sluice , correction : "across" a sluice !

The privat tracks of the Sappi papermill look well maintained, but in reality there is no more actual connection to the maintrack.

As the Albertcanal was built in 1930-1939 the original straight track between Eigenbilzen and Lanaken was altered with two curves and eversince the track crosses the Albercanal in Gellik with this iron bridge built by NMBS-engineer Arthur Vierendeel. See also Brückenweb !
