Maastricht  Station ( Last update : April 14,2008 )

In the beginning of the Maastricht-Aachen Railroad Maastricht itself had no railway station ! The passengers came no further than a Station on Meerssen territory. Only once the iron railway bridge was built  in the course of the extension of the line to Hasselt, the Boschpoort Station was put into use in 1858.

In 1861 Maastricht was connected to Lięge and only in 1865 it was connected to Venlo via Sittard, this part of the track built by its then owner: the Staats Spoorwegen (State Railways)
